ABOUT OUR BUSINESS

Two Dishes Catering was founded almost 15 years ago with the idea that good food starts from scratch. What began as a thriving Farmer's Market stall and catering business turned into a successful restaurant expansion in 2013 with the opening of Two Dishes Cookshop. "The Cookshop" anchored the corner of Charlotte & Bethune in Downtown Peterborough for 9 years, serving up breakfast, lunch, baked goods, and some pretty famous donuts.

The Cookshop brought a world of flavours to Peterborough and The Kawarthas, being voted Best Brunch in Peterborough multiple times and even being featured on the Food Network Canada show "You Gotta Eat Here" in 2016.

Sadly, The Cookshop closed in early 2022, but Two Dishes remains stronger than ever. We have returned to our roots in takeout meals, catering, Farmer's Markets, as well as launching a new "Donut Trailer" available for outdoor catering or festival events. We are firmly committed to the same scratch made principles that have made us successful no matter where we're serving.

There are plenty of exciting plans in the works as Two Dishes' continues to adapt and grow. No matter how much things change, good food will always matter.

Susan Houde

Founder and Head Chef

Susan Houde, our Main Dish, began her career in food service 30 years ago in local Peterborough kitchens. She honed her craft and earned her chops at restaurants like: Hot Belly Mama's, The Chef's Table, The Night Kitchen, and The Only Café before becoming head chef at St. Veronus for over a decade. Her love of flavour and desire to push herself to new culinary places has propelled her at every step. Inspired by her travels, she has a way of incorporating flavours from around the world into dishes that feel both familiar and  exciting.

Her skills and decades of experience help guide the Two Dishes team through every new challenge and opportunity, whether it's dinner for 1 or a wedding for 100, Susan sets a high standard for everything that Two Dishes does.

Rylee  Mitchell

Catering Coordinator

Rylee is our Side Dish. She spent the better part of 15 years managing construction projects in Toronto and brings her attention to detail and coordinating efforts to the Two Dishes Catering kitchen! She loves people and eating, so what better person to talk to about your event? She's the one answering emails and updating the website in between batch baking carrot cake. And soon she'll be back at the outdoor Wednesday market (because warm weather will return).
